Viewing Category ~ obsession
I went to Japan for a couple weeks earlier this year and instead of the usual ritual that usually consisted of taking hundreds of shots, I decided to do something different. This video is a compilation of videos I shot whilst traveling across the land of the rising sun. Enjoy!
So I’m in the midst of locking myself away till May 27th to work on a couple top secret projects, one of them, which I’ll confide about here, is the next film poster series I plan on making. Let me tell you guys, It will be epic. I’m going to play a little game with those interested, if you can guess correctly what film(s) I’m going to make into posters, I’ll include you on a priority waiting list to purchase the limited edition posters when they eventually are released. You can send your answer(s) to email@example.com
In the meantime, I’ll share with everyone my latest entrance wall board, A couple of good friends and inspiring people are on there. If you think you have something that should be there, (artwork, business card, etc) send it to my studio ( Studio Ibraheem Youssef, 62 Crawford st, Toronto, On, M6J 2V2, Canada), I’ll be updating the board twice every month.

Obsession does have it’s pros and cons you know, If weren’t for that quality in me, I’d probably have things done much sooner. However, I’m really appreciative for that trait, I couldn’t imagine my life without it, achieving a higher standard in everything is really dependant on it. Which takes me to this, so yeah here’s my blog, It’s been in the works for 2 months now. Welcome.
Speaking of obsession though, It’s hard not to claim that word as something so personal without a shout out to what I consider to have set the bar regarding obsession. September 13th 2008, Stefan Sagmeister with the aide of over 100 volunteers and during the span of 8 days, used 250,000 Eurocents to construct a massive installation piece in Waagdragerhof Square in Amsterdam, spelling out the sentence “Obsessions make my life worse and my work better.” I couldn’t have written a more beautiful and true sentence.
Since we’re talking of the Dutchlands, I’m participating in this years’ Graphic Design Festival Breda, held in The Netherlands from May 8th-30th, The theme for this year is “decoding”, the piece that I contributed is an interactive one that requires full participation from passerby’s and festival goers. I’m pretty excited to see the reaction it evokes. If you happen to be in Breda during that date, go check it out and if possible take some pictures for me, I’m not sure If I can make it yet! Here is the intro video animated by Studio Smack.
